, and like that film, is based on a trilogy of novels. Given the popularity of the controversial romance in many countries around the world, we have a feeling that a second book adaptation is already underway. Here’s what fans can expect from the plot.
A sequel, titled “Ten Dzien” (“This Day”), was released in 2018 and introduces several new characters, including Adrian, Massimo’s twin brother. Unlike his sibling, Adriano studied in Britain and continues to live there, seemingly running away from the family business.
As fans know, the first film ends on a cliffhanger after Massimo learns that a rival mob family is plotting to kill his fiancee, Laura. A pregnant bride-to-be’s vehicle enters a tunnel in the Italian countryside but never comes out. The final scene reveals a police car blocking the entrance to the underpass.
“Ten Dzien” does not follow the same story, but begins with Massimo finding out that Laura is pregnant. Although she and Massimo try to live somewhat normal lives and manage to get married, Laura is kidnapped again – this time by a man named Marcelo “Nacho” Matos, who is an assassin and the son of another mob boss.
Movies Like ‘365 Days’
While held hostage, Laura begins to develop feelings for her new captor (sound familiar?), but Massimo has no intention of letting his wife and unborn child be taken from him. The second novel ends with Laura being shot when Massimo tries to save her, and he has to decide whether to save her or their baby.
Not surprisingly, the book has a lot of negative reviews on Goodreads. “If you’re looking for a good, well-written mob romance or are curious about the series after seeing the ‘365 DAYS’ movie adaptation, my advice is to skip those books,” wrote one critic. “They are definitely not worth your time or money.”
