Avatar The Last Airbender Episode 3 – Avatar: The Last Airbender was one of the most beloved children’s cartoons of the 2000s… for incorporating adult concerns and real-world issues into a fantasy tale. Now back on Netflix, the show has garnered huge numbers and has reminded old-timers why they loved it in the first place. So we decided to take the opportunity to revisit and rank our favorite episodes. Don’t worry: just like the characters, we tried to strike a balance.

Avatar The Last Airbender Episode 3
Sees the gang having several sleepless nights as a mysterious vehicle overtakes them. Naturally, tensions rise and Toph goes off on his own after arguing with Aang, leading to a delightful and enlightening meeting between him and Iroh. Meanwhile, Aang engages in a spectacular three-way battle with Zuko (DANTE BASCO) and Azula in an abandoned city. While the climactic conflict further cements Azula as a formidable and dangerous adversary, it also foreshadows the unlikely alliances that will form in Season 3. ,

After meeting Suki in the previous episode, the King of Omashu introduces us to two n figures – Bumi and of course the Cabbage Merchant. Three amazing characters in a row? We are really happy. It was only after Bumi left that he was able to put the audience on his side: “How can I impart knowledge to this ranger who is also a childhood friend of mine? Threatening to kill my friends, obviously.” By forcing the Avatar King to think like a mad genius and get creative to save Katara (Mae Whitman) and Sokka, it gives Aang and Sho some much-needed edge. Who can forget how great Omashu looks? We still want to ride those huge sticks. —Rachel Young

It feels like one of the happiest and darkest episodes of the entire season at the same time. On one hand, the gang finally heals Appa! How cool to see Dai Li the secret police getting his ass kicked too, eh? But is the short-term catharsis of Long Feng being thrown in prison worth Jett’s tragic death? Even his self-sacrifice is nothing more than a way to live a horribly sad life. An honest portrayal of Jett’s experience of looting, stealing and brainwashing.
Afraid of fire We were only shown as a destructive, victorious military force. From the very first moments of the opening credits we are told that there are four basic elements of this world, but one of them is wrong, evil and opposite to the other three elements. One of the great joys of the final part of Book 3 is its showing that things don’t have to be this way. Traveling to meet the Sun Warriors clan and the last dragons they protect, Aang and Zuko learn that fire can also be beautiful, colorful, and sustaining life. Far from inevitable, Firelord Ozai’s reign of terror is a perversion of the world (a good reminder in our seemingly endless war). Fire doesn’t have to be destroyed, just as Aang and Zuko don’t have to fight each other; In fact, they are stronger when they grow and burn together. ,
The Last Airbender S03e03 The Painted Lady
Was about to open. The first was Zuko’s Agni Kai. After introducing this guy as the supposed main antagonist of the show, we see hints that he’s pretty sympathetic and noble in his own way. The horror story aspect of this episode is even more important as we watch silly little Aang slowly realize the truth of his people’s genocide. a good reason
What was and still is unique about the children’s media landscape is its blatant reckoning with the horrors of imperialism, and it started from the very beginning. ,
, Avatar once again enters horror territory. While camping in the Fire Nation, the team meets Avatar Hama, an old woman who runs the local inn and a waterbender of the Southern Water Tribe. Hama, a former POW, offers to teach Katara and reveals how he escaped captivity: bloodletting is actually a terrifying technique that creates some disturbing images as Hama manipulates people’s bodies. On the one hand, the general idea of bloodbending is good because it is a different application to waterbending, but it is also disturbing to see waterbending being used so violently because it is related to healing. Furthermore, Hama is one of the most tragic figures in the show, as his brutality makes him just as terrifying as the demons who hurt him. In the final confrontation, Katara is left with no choice but to use bloodlust to stop Haman, who unleashes the darkness in Katara, which manifests at the end of the season. ,
What begins as a fun trip from Aang to Kyoshi ends with serious lessons for the gang and the introduction of the now-beloved character. This episode gave us some of the funniest scenes from Book 1, as well as what we’ve been waiting for – Sokka’s misogynistic belly-screaming. He is defeated by warriors such as Suki and her “girl gang” Kyoshi, whose elegant fanfare and strategic fighting style shows that he needs more than brute force to win the day. This chapter also skilfully restates the responsibilities that come with being an Avatar. The other kids can ride the elephant all day, but Aang isn’t the average 12-year-old, and his neglect leaves the entire village devastated. The final battle when Zuko finds the group is truly thrilling, and Aang’s final decision to risk his life and save the city gives us a foreshadowing of what avatar he will become. ,
Watch Avatar The Last Airbender Season 3
In two parts. Unlike the hard-fought victories of “Siege of the North” or the cathartic Ragnarok of “Sozin’s Comet,” the explosive Book 2 finale saw the bad guys triumph for once. After a season of learning to empathize with Zuko, we see him revert back to his worst instincts – but not before sharing a beautiful scene with Katara, showing how the show’s great characters can interact in interesting ways. Can be mixed and matched. Aang’s cosmic incarnation was one of the best the Spirit show ever produced, which probably explains why he was forced to stay away from it until the finale. ,
Team Avatar attends a play based on the adventures of a local theater troupe. Not only was it a necessary respite from the mounting tension before the four-part series finale, but it was also deeply meaningful and a total joy. Through the play, the writers explore how Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, and Toph view themselves and each other, and the show’s recurring beats and bits (Sokka’s offbeat humor, Zuko’s obsession with honor) ) inspires the show to various ships. In many ways, this is the best kind of fan service. But the revelation that Boy on the Iceberg is just a prop for Fire Nation elevates the episode, as it ties into the show’s larger concerns with various parts of the war machine. Yes, it’s a filler episode in many ways, but it’s a great one. ,
Truly proved that Avatar is a step above the rest. Their characters are so well developed that they don’t need moving storylines to make them interesting to the audience. This slice of life episode brings an assertiveness and tenderness to each of our protagonists, even Momo, and shows how little things from dating to strangers to gossip can make a big impact on someone. The standout vignette is, of course, the chapter where Iroh does good for the common people and ends with a birthday memory of his late son. Iroh has always been more than a “carefree old man who loves tea” caricature, and this episode delves deeper into how his wisdom is shaped by loss and self-reflection. We dare not cry when “Vine Leaves” comes on. ,
In this episode, while the battle rages, Zuko further defends himself with Team Avatar, but they do not deform.
