Avengers Age Of Ultron Lego Sets – This past week has been a huge – and expensive – week for Marvel collectors, as the official street date for boatloads of Avengers Age of Ultron toys has finally arrived! But while tons of Hasbro Avengers Age of Ultron figures and collectibles have started to pile up on the shelves, one brand that has still made its presence known in the Avengers movie at retail is LEGO. But don’t worry! Although the official release date for Lego Avengers Age of Ultron sets isn’t until March 2015, the LEGO Iron Man vs Ultron 76029 set has slipped early and is now ready to order!
I’m a pretty big LEGO fan (that’s why I have another LEGO news page), so it goes without saying that the LEGO Avengers: Age of Ultron sets are some of my most anticipated toys in the first half of 2015. Date of With March 2015 set as the official launch of the Age of Ultron sets in stores, I had a feeling that – like most LEGO sets – these would show up in random places about a week early.

I was a bit off this time though – Amazon got their first shipment of the 76029 Iron Man vs Ultron set and the attack on Avengers Tower three weeks earlier than expected!
The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition Playset By Lego
Of the six sets that LEGO designed for Avengers Age of Ultron, the Iron Man vs Ultron set was at the bottom of my list. Don’t get me wrong – I dig that we get four unique minifigures in this set, including the LEGO Iron Man Mark 45 minifigure (with flip-up faceplate, of course), two Sub-Ultron trooper figures and Sub-Officer Ultron minifigure – but this set is not as big as the new LEGO Quinjet or the LEGO Hulkbuster set.
That said, the LEGO 76029 Iron Man vs Ultron makes for an excellent army builder set with three Ultron sentries included and a cool stud shooting plane that the bodies of the Ultron drones can be attached to. Crazy! You also get one of the new for 2015 LEGO “Super Jumper” accessories with this set, but so far I’ve found that the “Super Jumpers” work very poorly and aren’t much fun.
Even though this set is my least favorite of the wave, at $12 plus free shipping, there’s no way I’d be picking it up early. Hopefully it will arrive early enough this week that I’ll have a chance to fully build and review it before I leave for the 2015 New York Toy Fair this Friday.
The 76029 LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron Iron Man vs. arrive in actual retail stores towards the end of the month, despite the official release date (which is almost always broken by stores stocking LEGO products).
