Multiple outlets are reporting that the Morone family, which owns the Ambassador Bridge and one-time Michigan Central Station, has purchased the large Bel Air shopping center on the Northeast Side.
According to the news, Morone-run Crown Enterprises purchased the roughly 450,000 square foot complex in October of this year, which is south of 8 Mile Road and east of Van Dyke Avenue.
It is unclear what Morone plans to do with the more than 40-acre site. Crain’s Business spoke with Michael Samhat, president of Crown Enterprises, who said only that it was “repurposed.”
