Note: Some of these fonts, especially Lovegramos and theMonogramos, have some quirks. In other words, when you type a letter, 2 to 3 digits of the monogram are automatically filled with the same letter. You can see this in the Monogramos font example above.
To fix this, simply type the characters you want to use in Photoshop (or any other image editor) using the font. Then use the selection tool to select the unwanted characters and delete them. Repeat until you have left, right and middle characters (or left and right for Lovegramos).
You can also achieve this in the Cricut design space using the slice tool. I’ll be writing a tutorial soon on how to use these fonts in a design space.

Do you like monogram fonts? Well, I’m going to share some of my favorites and how to use them with my Cricut machine. So even if you’ve never used a monogram font in Cricut, you’ll be an expert by the end of this post. After all, using free fonts from Cricut is one way to build on a budget.

Now that you have a font, here’s how to create a monogram with Cricut. We’ll first give you some tips on the proper way to monogram, then we’ll look at specific types of monogram fonts above.
In case you’re confused with a monogram, the letters are in the order of first initial, last initial, middle initial. Usually the last initial is larger in the center than the other two. So the name in the picture below could be Allison Barbara Carter. The correct way to create a monogram is ACB instead of ABC.
Now you know how to monogram. Depending on the font you choose and the monogram you want to create, you have several options.
Split Letter Monogram Guide
When creating a script monogram in design space, add a block of text for each initial and measure them separately. You can actually use any script font you want for this purpose. It is recommended to align the letters after properly sizing them. I like to use center vertically, at least for the first and middle initials.
Otherwise, you can make the letters any size you want and position them however you like. Play around with the different sizes and move them closer or further until you get the look you want.
Typically circular monogram fonts come in three files. So you install left font, right font and center font on your computer. Then, in the design space, enter one textbox for each font to get a full circle.
I usually make them all the same font size and then center them vertically to form a perfect circle. You can play at manual intervals or type a circle and put it inside it. The vertical split feature also helps with even spacing.
Free Monogram Fonts For Cricut Design Space
The circular monogram above was created as a font. Some monogram fonts are actually collections of SVG files. So instead of installing a font on your computer, you actually get an SVG file for each character you upload. Many people are disappointed when they buy this type of font. If you want to create your own project, make sure what you are purchasing is for font files and not “vector characters”.
You can also create monograms split down the middle where you can add your name or other text. In fact, here’s a video on how to create this type of design in the Cricut design space.
