This next little tip will not only improve your child’s strength, but also improve wrist stability. It is very simple. Stick the coloring page on the wall and paint the vertical surface. Another position you can try is to have your child lie on their back under a table with a coloring page taped to the bottom of the table. Then they will tap to color the page.

A final position to try is sitting at a desk, but turn the seat sideways so your child’s back is not supported. This will force those core muscles to sit up straight.

Animal Alphabet Letters Coloring Pages

I know when you’re coloring with little ones, there are all the special crayons you can buy, but don’t worry. Instead, break your regular crayons in half. believe me. I know it’s nice to have nice new crayons, but they’re better tools for promoting fine motor skills when they break. Get it from a professional therapist with years of experience. This prevents children from gripping the crayons with their hands and instead uses their fingertips, leading to a more mature understanding of writing better when the time comes.

Gently encourage your child to use their fingertips to hold the pencil, but if they haven’t yet mastered staying within the lines, let them use their own creativity to color the picture, even outside the lines.
