Cartoon Network has acquired “DreamWorks Dragons,” and on Friday, Netflix brings “Dragons: Race to the Edge,” a 13-episode series featuring Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel), Astrid (America Ferreira) and among others. In the first movie, Hiccup is a boy who discovers that dogs can be friends. To others, he is young. The television series is set in the period between “Race to the Edge”, a year before the events of the second film. Among other things, the character of Hiccup’s father, Stoick (Nolan North), who died heroically in the second film, is still alive, giving guidance to the people of the mythical land of Berk and his son.

The game, designed for elementary school students to improve their science education and running on multiple devices, was updated this past April with the Icestorm Island: Arctic expansion pack.
