FRIDAY THE 13TH includes every musical note featured in the film and consists of two 180 gram LPs recording approximately one hour of fantastic sound that serves as the dark musical background to one of the A-best franchises for horror fans.
Originally released in 1982 and in 3-D, FRIDAY the 13th was the first film to feature the iconic character, Jason Voorhees, wearing a hockey mask. This image of the machete-wielding, hockey-masked man has become a trademark for the franchise, as well as an iconic image in American cinema and horror films in general.

Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have teamed up to release an exclusive, curated soundtrack to the classic horror film. “Rob Zombie Presents” will contain a series of unreleased soundtracks personally selected by the singer, songwriter and director.

Rob Zombie and Waxwork are pleased to announce the title of their first single “Rob Zombie Presents WHITE ZOMBIE”. Starring Bela Lugosi, WHITE ZOMBIE from 1932 is considered the first zombie film. The film was also made on the Universal Studio property, using many elements from other horror films of the time. Starring Madge Bellamy, Robert W. Frazer and John Harron, the film follows the cast as they navigate demons, love, pain and deceit. Initially panned by critics upon its release, the film has recently been re-evaluated and praised by critics for its portrayal of horror. The film continued to influence the mainstream media, even influencing the White Zombie band name. Rob Zombie said regarding the film,
“It’s a great film that a lot of people don’t know about. It amazes me that a film that’s so widely available can be so missed.”
After successfully working together on the official Zombie film soundtracks House of 1000 Corpses, Demons Rejected, 3 From Hell, The Lords of Salem, Halloween 1 & 2 and The Munsters, Zombie explored other collaborations with Waxwork. an attempt to discover, reinvigorate and bring out the classic leftist horror sound of the films of which he has been a lifelong fan. McKeon, an avowed “huge horror fan,” discussed his approach to the film’s tone. “Lee liked the idea of something out there laughing and enjoying the suffering and terror of the characters, so I recorded two female singers doing ‘joke’ sounds and vocal effects.

(Lee) wanted a score that was visceral, engaging and confrontational, while leaving room for emotional content. So, I started making sounds and textures based on the idea of a guitar; strained and snapped guitar strings; threads are torn off with knives and scissors; and other wonderful things. Many of these have entered the score as part of the text and tapestry. But in the end, for the signing, we published an idea that we called ‘meat grinder’. I spent a week creating many sounds using different methods, but in the end what worked was the result of dragging carving knives along the string of my beautiful grand piano and then cutting and stretching the sound into something that eventually It seemed. the devil’s flesh is revived.”
McKeon also recorded a variety of instrumental pieces and music, “tortured, broken and carefully cut. Then, these records are cut, folded and stretched before being fed, crying for mercy, into sheet music.”

Mark Mothersbaugh is a Grammy, BAFTA and Emmy nominated singer, producer, arranger and visual artist whose work has become part of the pop culture consciousness. He began his career as a collaborator and front man for the New Wave band DEVO. Their first Brian Eno/David Bowie produced album “Q: Aren’t We Men? A: We Are Devo” was certified gold before their album “Freedom of Choice” went platinum. For Cocaine Bear, Mothersbaugh wanted a soundtrack that reflected and captured 80s culture, with an attitude that would evolve as the music of the decade unfolded.” At the beginning of the film, it starts really well,” said Mothersbaugh. “But as it goes on, it gets heavier. The guitars go from soft and bright to distorted and more violent and there are synthesizers everywhere providing the pulse that gets things moving. To make it as authentic as possible, Mothersbaugh used instruments that created some of the most memorable sounds of the 80s music scene. “Once we decided we were going to let him soak up the 80s sound, I went to the storage room where I keep my gear and an old Devo track full of synthesizers,” Mothersbaugh says. “I took out the old synths that we used on the album in the 80s and used the same synths and a lot of the same amps and pedals.”
