Hansel And Gretel Part 2 – The heroic duo Hansel and Gretel once again embark on a deadly mission to kill witches. The first movie started with a fairy tale touch and showed Hansel and Gretel abandoned by their father in the forest. After that, they enter the gingerbread house. There, a cannibalistic witch captures the brothers.
Since then, they have become classic witch hunters, executing hundreds of witches. Recently, there were reports about the next sequel of the film. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Hansel And Gretel Part 2
The first film, directed by Tommy Wirkola, was released on January 25, 2013. It received ratings for action and horror genres. The film stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as Hansel and Gretel. Other characters include Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare, Thomas Mann, Pihla Viitala and Derek Mears in supporting roles.

The first sequel to the film was originally announced to be released in 2016. Obviously, the film was not launched then. But there were speculations about the release of the film next year, 2021.
In 2014, it was reported that Wirkola would not continue as director and that Jeremy Renner might not continue to star in the film. New faces not yet registered have not been announced. We’re not even sure if Gemma Arterton has agreed to play the female lead in the film. It has also been rumored that Paramount is more interested in making a TV series based on the adventures of the witch-hunting duo, and that there is a better chance than it will continue.
Contrary to the above facts, Wirkola has recently shared a teaser of the film and mentioned how it will incorporate voodoo elements.
Although “Hansel and Gretel” was not a hit show, it still managed to cross the $226 million mark and garnered a decent audience for its premiere. This leads to a deal with Paramount Pictures for the next installment.

Director Wirkola even wrote a script for a sequel that included some “pretty crazy” ideas for the second film. McKay also stated that “this may be one of those cases where the sequel goes further than the first one. Think of a different kind of witchcraft.”
Without a release date and trailer, it may be a while before we see the second installment in theaters.
