How Long The Hobbit Movie – The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Extended Edition) is an extended version of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It has 13 minutes of additional footage added back to the film (bringing the total running time to 182 minutes), as well as several documentaries about the making of the film as appendices.
NOTE: The film is split into 2 discs for the DVD and Blu-ray 3-D editions; the cut point between episodes 20 and 21 (the Blu-ray 3-D edition also includes the regular Blu-ray 2-D version of the film as Disc 3).

Begin your search with this film, which tells the story of Frodo Baggins, a hobbit tasked with carrying the One Ring to its final destination. Along the way, he encounters goblins, dwarves, wizards and monsters that test his courage in a way he has never experienced before.
The Adventure Continues: As Frodo and his faithful gardener/husband Sam continue their quest to destroy the Ring from Mount Doom, they encounter Gollum, the ring’s former owner. Meanwhile, the other members of the Brotherhood prepare to fight Sarumon’s evil minions at the Battle of Helm’s Deep. Fans clearly couldn’t get enough of the fight: when it was released, it was the third highest-grossing film of all time.
