New villains are always appearing and new heroes are always attacking to stop them. Crystal Dynamics takes the same approach as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes game. Marvel’s Avengers launched with six playable characters, but not all of the heroes are ours to take control of when all is said and done. Crystal Dynamics said all playable characters will be added at no extra cost, but additional upgrades for those characters can be expensive.

A New Batch Of Character Portraits For Avengers: Endgame (album In Comments)
Guardian Clint Barton joins as the first hero post-launch. An expert archer trained by Clint, Kate has similar abilities, but with her own set of moves and equipment such as Razor Arrows, Scatter Arrows, Explosive Arrows, and Smoke Screen Arrows. He can also teleport the battlefield using warp arrows, create holograms, and apply quantum energy to his attacks. He participates as part of Operation: Getting AIM with Super Adaptoid, which focuses on the search for Clint Barton and makes his way as a new Omega-level enemy with all the abilities of the Avengers.
Clint Barton, missing after the events of A-Day, reappears as part of Operation: Future Imperfect. Set in a future where the world is ravaged by the Kree and nuclear war, Operation: Future Imperfect pits Hawkeye against the insane Maestro, a mutated version of the Hulk who combines Banner’s intelligence with the Hulk’s might. The Maestro has killed every superhero and supervillain in this theoretical future, and it’s up to Hawkeye to end his reign.
Black Panther has joined The Avengers for his first post-launch content drop that’s big enough to be considered an expansion. The War for Wakanda expansion follows King T’Challa and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they battle invading mercenaries led by Klaw and Crossbones.
After some teasing, Crystal Dynamics finally brought Spider-Man to the PlayStation versions of Marvel’s Avengers. Instead of bringing Spider-Man to life through an expansion like Black Panther or action like Hawkeye and Kate Bishop, Spider-Man joins the superhero team without a story mission or cutscenes in the engine.

Mighty Thor has many of the same abilities as Thor, but with a few changes, including the internal All-Mother’s Blessing and the new Overcharge move, God Tempest.
Bucky Barnes joins Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as part of Update 2.7, which includes a culminating battle against MODOK. The Winter Soldier’s moveset is inspired by friends and training partners like Black Widow and Captain America, but he’s an all-around offensive character with a strong emphasis on dealing damage in a variety of ways.
Of course, with plenty of super-powered heroes on the roster, Marvel’s Avengers needs a number of nefarious threats worthy of the team’s attention. Just like its roster of heroes, Marvel’s Avengers is steadily expanding its roster of villains. The Marvel Films From Worst To Best—and Where To Stream Them
At launch, there are six playable characters, from Thor to Iron Man to the Hulk, many of whom have appeared in the MCU over the past decade – but a few new surprises are also expected.
The Avengers campaign will unlock them one by one as you play through the story, but those who want to jump to the end of the game can start with any character they want.
More characters will arrive as part of Marvel’s Avengers DLC, all as part of free updates, with one coming exclusively to PlayStation.

Apart from the above, Square Enix plans to release new characters in the game for free.
All characters will receive the same treatment as the original cast of six, including unique moves, gear sets, costumes, emotes and more. Most (if not all) will come with their own quest chains.
Aside from the DLC characters confirmed above, the beta’s playable character data pool seems to reveal more on the way.

In the free-to-play Avengers Initiative mode and the campaign endgame, you have full access to all available characters.

To change characters, first go to the battle table. This is where you select the mission you want to play next.
Now press Options (on PlayStation) or Menu (on Xbox) as shown on the screen to bring up the character list.
In the campaign, you must unlock each playable character individually as part of the story – the game will make this clear when a new character is unlocked.
While not all campaign missions allow you to play as every character for story reasons, you can choose any group you have access to for the characters you plan to create a Strike Team with. If you haven’t seen them all, you should. Or if it is, but you can’t quite remember where they stayed. 18 movies is too many! And not all of us have had time to go through every single scene in the last ten years!
