What Happened To The Final ‘divergent’ Movie ‘ascendant’? Details

Hello. I expect you’re reading this because you’re curious about this situation or you’re a Divergent fan. The Divergent film franchise is based on a series by Veronica Roth. It is predicted to be “the next hunger game”. These movies are definitely not the best movies I can’t deny, but there’s another thing I can’t deny and that’s that this whole franchise has potential.

When it comes to book-to-movie adaptations and just movies, you generally want an audience, and with the audience you want to get paid. Now I would guess and say that the majority of viewers who saw these movies in theaters are fans of the books. If you don’t know, fans of the book are crazy. Despite their crazy fangirl/fanboy ideas, sometimes they know what’s best for the show. I’m not talking about the technical part, but when it comes to content, that’s where I think people should listen. We are the people watching. Just because we know nothing about movies and movie production doesn’t mean you shouldn’t listen to what you’re saying.

The first episode of Divergent is true to the book and is still one of my favorite parts of the show because it stands out to me as a movie more than any other movie. (If you want to hear my opinion of the movie, I’ve attached all my ratings at the beginning of this article.) The movie isn’t the best, I’ll admit. However, if we think about the adaptations of some of the most successful films, they are not only of better quality, but also more honest. Harry Potter, for example, an incredible structure, and what do you know? He is honest with the book. The Twilight Saga is another representation of the film franchise that isn’t perfect, but as far as I can tell it’s true to the source. The Percy Jackson movie… there. What do all these movies, including Divergent, have in common? They have a lot of fans/followers. If the books hadn’t sold, they would never have made a movie the first time. I’m just trying to say that if the last movie had been a little more true to the book, maybe it would have been better. A lot of fans haven’t seen the last two movies because they know it’s not like the book. That alone will leave a big dent in sales.

According to the observation of the last two films, they are trying to appeal to a different audience. That’s not a bad thing, but does it mean we have to delete everything we built in the first thing? No, a big part of watching a movie is being entertained or invested in what you’re watching. The last movie was full of action and a lot of holes. Despite the many action scenes, I never got invested or interested in the last two films. You can read more of my thoughts on the overuse of not only action but also CGI in my review.

Trying to appeal to a very different audience doesn’t mean continuing a pointless activity that distracts you from the real story. There are many ways to make things more attractive to different audiences, and unfortunately, they chose the wrong way. Although, that was just my opinion. I’ve also heard rumors that they’re trying to appeal to a more male audience? Not all men like guns. So is it necessary to add a little meaningful conversation that isn’t too romantic or funny?

I absolutely hate lying about books to be honest, but I am a book blogger. I will give an example. Shadowhunters have strayed from the book. However, some of them remain at key plot points and the world is still there. There are still bits of books we love. They also marketed the program well. With the last two Divergent movies, it was like watching a movie I knew nothing about. There are still ways to promote what comes from the books. Because the story is not only different from the book, but also from the first movie (some small things like a non-partisan story is not relevant at all) They created this new story with a lot of plot. Not only is there a plot hole, but it’s predictable.

I don’t know about you, but I like to leave the theater with some impact, Divergent did that for me, it made me feel all of that. With Insurgent and Allegiant, I was left with nothing. It’s like watching an action movie, really action packed.

I can go into something else about respecting a leader’s craft or creation when it comes to continuing the film brand, but I disagree.

So the movie franchise went down… but they still want to continue the story but on the small screen AKA TV. The makers wanted a TV movie and there could be a sequel as well. The only time I think this works is when the writers are involved because this is their world and characters. Or if the editing of the book is done well… for me, I’m not really mad that they didn’t make Ascendant because I have a lot of issues with the last two movies. One thing that pisses me off is that we didn’t see Tris die… Another thing I’m not a big fan of is that they wanted to continue the show when it clearly failed. They also want to create a spin off series which makes absolutely no sense to me. If it were up to me, I’d end it all. It’s not like an Allegiant open ending, I mean I really don’t see how they’re going to continue it. This is again like the whole Shadowhunters story, but instead of repeating it, they continue it. Doing something that is not good is different from doing something that has failed.

Why do I think this franchise failed? First, they missed the opportunity to make something better with a sequel. Also an aspect of honesty. Another thing is that it’s being sold as “The Next Hunger Games.” Even though they never say a word, you feel that way with the way it’s promoted. For example, if something says it’s going to be the next ‘Twilight’, is that attractive to you? On the other hand, I don’t know who I am, but when I watch short clips, I always feel like it says “New popular youth series!”

Honestly, it’s a shame the franchise didn’t do well because I love the books and think the actors are perfect for their roles.

All in all, I’m not mad that they didn’t continue the movie. I was even more upset about things I had never seen on screen and the fact that they wanted to continue their monopoly business. I don’t want to touch it, we have three films and it’s very good. I’m not interested in spinning or TV movies. Looking for a dystopian sea?
