Lego Lord Of The Rings Part 1 – Back in March, the LEGO Ideas team launched a competition for fans to submit their best LOTR-inspired MOCs for judging by the LEGO judging panel. Big winners will receive a signed copy of the much-hyped and complete Lord of the Rings: Rivendell 10316 set.
The competition is divided into two categories – ‘Location’ and ‘Scene’ – giving talented LEGO brick builders the option of recreating one of the many fictional locations from The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit or create a diorama of a place. Videos In the first part of this blog, we will focus on the best Lord of the Rings MOCs in the ‘location’ category.

Congratulations to Martin_Studios on winning the Grand Prize for their Lothlorien entry (pictured in our banner above). The beautiful game of the forest kingdom ruled by Galadriel and Celeborn features some beautiful scenery, such as the gold of giant trees, autumn leaves, arched windows and crumbling statues and staircases of Elvish realms . The competition for the Jagosma Rabbit-Award is for Argonath (pictured on our banner above), two statues of the ancient Gondorian kings who guard the borders of their land.

With more fan entries submitted than you can shake a wizard at, we thought we’d highlight some of our favorite entries that missed out on the top prize but Not necessary to convert into a LEGO set…
The offer from the Three 10k Club member Ralph Rangwall is not at least worthy of a competitor, although he seems to be sitting on the place and place that will increase his chances. For ourselves, we can’t stop looking at this cute LEGO creation. The dark, eclipse event perfectly brings out the ethereal, magical quality of Lothlorien, and the light shines out of the black water is a real show. Several brick versions of the Hobbit’s house were submitted to the LEGO Idea Contest however, in the end we completed the two images above, submitted by kris_kelvin and J.K.Brick respectively. Both models offer a creative interpretation of Hobbiton and Bilbo and Frodo Baggins’ house, with lots of greenery created from various LEGO elements and a cozy, condensed feel for the space of the show. Fun details in the Hobbiton expansion include Ted Sandman’s mill, the Tree of the Last Bag, and a washing line for the hobbits to hang their clothes to dry.

. While the show was met with mixed reviews, fans were mostly impressed with the concept of places like Nemenor, as seen by artists John Howe and Alan Lee. This LEGO construction pays tribute to the Land of the Stars as seen in the show, with Arendyl Tower in the distance and one of the many ships in the west.
Fabrice’s version of Amon Sol recreates in exquisite detail the hilltop ruins of the ancient Iridor Watchtower, where the Hobbits faced off against the Ringwrights.
This is another entry that may be closer to space than space However the craftsmanship and attention to detail in this LEGO My Own build is exceptional
Those who work for the Dark Lord Sauron in our office give their loyalty to this great creation by Brickmockbay. Recreating the spiraling towers of Mordor with LEGO bricks is not easy, even for the most avid MOC finisher. The unique design of this brick building (which appears to be made of metal held together by orcs in the film), stands out beautifully against the bright orange and red eyes of Sauron.

Complete diorama measures over 15 in (39 cm) high, 29.5 in (75 cm) wide and 19.5 in (50 cm) deep. Due to its uneven footprint, it will not fit every cabinet, and for this reason, the construction can be divided into three parts.
An elven tower – featuring five elven statues of an unnamed army from the past – is the highlight of the first episode.
