I don’t remember if I had read Suzanne Collins’ Gregor the Overlander series at the time; I think it’s just an interesting idea. I liked it at first but as time went by, I started to like it less and less, because the first book was the only book that wasn’t very interesting. As the series became more popular, I grew to hate it, especially after I discovered Patrick Ness’s Chaos Walking trilogy, a YA novel published around the same time as The Hunger Games captures some of the themes in an interesting way. . he was covered by it. Today, I really appreciate the novel because, if nothing else, the series tried to tackle mature themes like war and media manipulation, even if the characters failed results in what Collins intended.
In all of this, movies are mixed together. I really liked the first one because Gary Ross (the director) did the violence and horror, which the book tried to do but failed because Collins praises him. he is not a good writer.
