Set amid the harsh beauty of the North Carolina coast, Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook begins with the story of Noah Calhoun, a Southern country man who has just returned from World War II. Noah restores the plantation to its former glory and the image of the beautiful girl he met fourteen years ago, a girl he loves like nothing else, troubles him. Unable to find her, but not wanting to forget the summer they spent together, Noah is content to live only with the memories… until she unexpectedly returns to his town to see him again .
Like a puzzle within a puzzle, Noah and Allie’s story is only the beginning. As it unfolds, their story magically turns out to be different, with much higher stakes. The result is an extremely moving portrait of love itself, its tender moments, and the fundamental changes that affect us all. It is a story of miracles and emotions that will stay with you forever.
Allison Hamilton, now 29, can’t seem to shake off her first boyfriend, Noah Calhoun. Torn between her fiance Lon and her soul mate Noah, Allie must make a difficult decision and face the risk of breaking the heart of one of these men. Nicholas Sparks writes a passionate and amazing romance novel that will leave you wanting more. If you’re not a fan of romance stories, start here and read Nicholas Sparks’ gripping novel The Notebook.
It all started that summer when Allie was 15 years old; she meets Noah – a 17-year-old low-class young man full of life and enthusiasm – and they immediately agree. Passionate about love, this young couple did everything together and never left each other. They really hope to be together, build a family together, and grow old together. Despite their differences at times, they are still together.
The Notebook (english, Paperback, Nicholas Sparks)
“I’m nothing special, I’m sure of this. I am an ordinary man with ordinary thoughts and I have an ordinary life. There is no monument dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I have loved others with all my heart and soul, and this has always been enough for me.”
Unfortunately, Allie had to return home and leave Noah behind. Heartbroken, Allie misses Noah and thinks about him all the time. Noah is very sad and misses Allie very much. He writes to Allie-un every day – but not all is answered. Allie’s mother deliberately took them without informing Allie. She doesn’t think Noah is right for Allie and calls him “trash”. Years have passed, the two have not heard from each other, but they still have an endless love for each other.

It’s been a few years since I read it, but for The Reading Rush this year, I finally decided to try the audiobook and of course, I LOVED it!
Nicholas Sparks’s notebook tells the story of Noah and Allie who met and fell in love as teenagers in the 1940s. They were separated when Allie’s family returned home and after writing letters for two years. With no answer, Noah decided he needed to move on . Fourteen years later, after seeing Noah in the newspaper about building his house, Allie decides to leave her fiance at home while she secretly visits Noah. When Noah and Allie meet again, the spark is a spark, the romance and passion they share is still there but how could Allie choose this person without hurting anyone?
The story is told by an old man who lives in a nursing home with his wife. She has dementia and he read her the story of Noah and Allie. How they met and fell in love, what happened after Allie left, and the life they will have in the future.

I love this love story. This is my favorite book ever. I enjoyed the movie, but it couldn’t compare to the novel.
Allie and Noah are great characters. They both come from completely different backgrounds but somehow they are drawn together and fall in love.
I like the layout of The Notebook. All of the author’s books are based in North Carolina and I would love to visit them. It’s definitely on my bucket list.
Romance is beautiful. The first love was intense and intense. I feel like you’ve never loved another like your first love. I know you can fall in love again and again, but I also don’t think that compares to the first time. You can love many times but you can never love once or twice. It is what it is
