Power Rangers Dino Charge Zords Toys – The next wave of Zord Armors just brings us a new Zord Armor, and you know what? That’s right. This release is the Deluxe Petra Charge Zord Armor Ranger, which for the remainder of this review will simply be referred to as the Petra Charge Zord Armor. As with previous Zord armor, it features the Zord armor and a transparent “bicycle-style” Ranger figure (in this case, the old Gold Ranger). Any 5″ ranger figure of the action hero variety will be able to work properly with Jord armor. Like others in the Zord Armors Dino Charge line, it can transform from robot mode to dinosaur mode, and can be used in conjunction with other Megazords or Zord Armors via ZordBuilder ports.

The figure, like the Dino Bicycles, is really badass, and offers five points, enough for the robot to stand or sit on the bicycle. The clear plastic is nice, if only to distinguish it from the original that came with the dyno cycle.

The robot mode is actually kind of cool. It’s the same base mold as the other two, which means we’re stuck with drill arms again. While they’ve been slightly redesigned to include little hands (since they act as wings for dino mode), it’s not new enough to make the toy worthwhile. The pteranodon head on the shoulders is a great touch to add a clean silhouette to the toy. The shoulders are slightly modified to create the effect of dinosaur wings. As it is, it is definitely not bad.

Dinosaur mode has a lot of potential. The arms interlock to form really well convincing wings. The only downside is the foot, which is obviously a big way to convince Paranodon feet in any shape or form. Upon closer inspection, there is no other real place for them to hang out, so you either let them go or deal with them. Leaving them off makes for a very nice flying body that I really like.

The recipe is very simple, and then leaving the legs hanging from the shoulder is really strange. Thinking about it, the legs seem to be the hardest part of this whole game in terms of models and combinations. The combos with Dino Charge Megazord and Petra Charge Megazord are really neat in their own way. The profile it creates is great, though I can’t help but want something more than a silly exercise.

Overall, the Petra Charge Zord Armor is really cool, but still doesn’t really feel like a $19.99 toy. If you like the way it looks, and don’t mind the price, this ZordBuilder offers a lot of fun possibilities, and is probably the best of the three Zord Armors in the line right now. It’s not bad at all, but doesn’t offer the best dyno charge.

Our first deluxe Megazord release is the Dino Charge Megazord, the original Megazord used in Power Rangers Dino Charge. This size class retails for $34.99 at most major retailers. Dino Charge Megazord is our newest release from Zyoden Sentai Kuriougar. The original Megazord consists of the T. Rex Zord, Stego Zord, and Tricera Zord, which are red, blue, and pink, respectively. While Green and Black also pilot the Megazords, the Zords are technically the Auxiliary Zords (we’ll see that later). Along with the Dino Charge Megazord, T. Rex is the charger. However, it is cast in clear plastic instead of gray plastic like the normal release! All sounds like a normal charger. Like the Curiosity robot, the Dino Charger can be inserted into all three Zero’s mouths. Unfortunately Stego and Teresa Zards can’t keep their mouths shut. There are some paint applications missing, but all three zords look great. I really like the size and quality of these guys. While this release continues the Zord Builder trend, this release unfortunately doesn’t make good use of it. Stage and Tercera have no monkeys, while T. Rex has only seven total male monkeys, and four female monkeys. T. Rex’s head and tail are removable to reveal shoulder zord builder ports so that optional weapons can be attached. Unfortunately, while the inner legs and outer legs have ports, you cannot add replacement legs, limiting the usability of the system in this release. While many would think this is a good thing, fans of Jord Bilder are sure to be a little disappointed. Ports on the lower legs and great for creating a fun combination on the shoulder. While the game is limited, the possibilities of these ports are very good. Unfortunately there are no lights or sounds, as expected with these Megazord releases. Modeled after the Kyoryuzin, the weapons use the same port system, so fans of the Kyoryuzin should know how Zord Release works, the auxiliary zords are mainly T. Rex has alternate arms for his body.

It’s Getting Hard To Fit All The Dino Charge Zords On One Shelf

Overall, I really like this release, and it’s easily my favorite Megazords release in this price bracket. The main features of the Japanese games are here, and including the zord builder, it adds a new level of playfulness that I love about Bandai America’s molds. While I really wish it had more Zord Builder ports, especially on the legs, it still has enough to be a lot of fun. This release is just the tip of the dinosaur iceberg we’ll get over the next two years. Really looking forward to America’s Special Zero. Come on band, do it.
