The Vietnam War is over. Former Green Beret John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is in prison. Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna) pulls him in because he needs a chaperone for a dangerous top-secret mission. Rambo is tasked with finding and freeing American prisoners of war in the jungles of Vietnam. However, his survival will be put to the test. People think of him as disposable because he doesn’t follow orders. From now on, Rambo will stand on his own. Cutting-edge action at the time, and a great throwback to his hand-crafted 80s action today with no digital effects. Beautiful, questionable and absolute cult. In the second part, Rambo is finally allowed to return to Vietnam, and the film is reduced to just the action parts of the characters, omitting the dramatic parts. However, you get everything an action heart desires here. Stallone again plays a quiet, purposeful character, with 1A effects and landscapes exotic and colorful. Another action/war movie highlight. Class performance of Sylvester Stallone. Only this perpetually “good” America against other bad guys is really annoying. Because it’s not as easy to distinguish between good and evil as it is in this movie. But it has nothing to do with the movie itself. Conclusion: Good action, tension, combat and story are the only things that make me feel a little uneasy. The second part of Rambo can be watched by all fans of this kind of action. Version 18 is better than his unmarked 16 reviews on July 31, 2020. Of course, he has some responsibility too. “He calls home what you choose to call hell”…the movie goes in this direction and on this level. A lot of fun comes out of Sylvester’s dark arms. But the moment he has to jump with a parachute, he already fails. One of the unintentionally funny moments is when Rambo, after donning his martial arts uniform, ties the cutie friendship chain around his swollen neck. Part 2 is usually worse than the original, but here the crashes are really extreme. But like I said, if you don’t take the nonsense seriously and forget the first part, you can enjoy it on a level of silly just over two stars.
