DVDs have been out for a while now, but they are always cheap. Not cheap in terms of price, but light in volume and content. I had the first two episodes but stopped there. The performance was as remarkable as I can remember. It is full of ignorant and ugly jokes, but there are some valuable stories here and there. I remember the characters hitting the mouse often, but what I do not remember is how often the performance seems to be humorous. This may be one of the things that caught the attention of those who wanted a program, but so far it’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Who can perform such a performance seriously? Creatures have many cameos (to sell more action figures) both as sidekicks and as opponents. I have always liked Baxter Stockman on the show and Rat King is also a personal favorite.

Packaging is definitely a selling point for this set. The Turtle Van (or Party Wagon as it is called on the toy packaging) is a solid example of a classic toy. It disappears bells and whistles like a gun, but it includes a spinning wheel. The interior has a green styrofoam mold that slides. It can be a bit difficult to align the disks properly, so I wonder how well it will take care of them, but it works. There is also a booklet with a full list of discs, but that is it. My pet’s confusion is that the car has stickers on the front so they ride in it, but the side mirrors are not.
If you are looking for a great performance, this is not the case. This collection is strictly for collectors who can not say “no” to their childhood stuff. For whatever it is, it’s a great set and I fully intend to see every disc. I grew up playing parrots on the show before its original run was over, so I’m looking forward to watching more episodes of “Red Sky” from the last season of the show I missed. If you are a fan like me who has not yet received this DVD, this is definitely a valuable set for you.
