Dacia makes a big deal of its simple philosophy, so it’s no surprise to learn that the Sandro hatchback – specifically, the 1.0-litre, 75bhp Access model – is the cheapest car on sale in the UK, with a base price of just £4,320. Even after adding in VAT and the various costs associated with new cars, you’re looking at a new car for less than six thousand dollars. Sandro is cheap, and that’s basically what we’re saying.
The Cheapest All Wheel Drive Cars You Can Buy Today
Sandro does not have a monopoly on value in Dacia. How about the Logan MCV, an estate car with a £5 base price of just £404? It’s a great car for the money, and at this price it comes in a 75 horsepower, 1.0-liter engine. For an additional amount off the base price, you can upgrade to the Ambiance cabin, which comes with features like air conditioning and electric front windows.
Well, that’s kind of fitting. The Tweezie is a winding electric lane for two, so if you have a long road trip or with the family, this Renault may not be for you. But at a base price of just £5, £575, the Twizy could be an affordable and eye-catching option for city dwellers. For that low price you can get it in Expression trim, and if you add around £700 to the base price you can get a Dynamic.
Suzuki’s small Celerio hatchback is available for a base price of just £6, £142 and comes with a 68bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine. In the SZ2 it features DAB radio, electric front windows and seating for five In. Not bad.
The Citigo is Skoda’s approach to the Volkswagen Up, and is also largely the same car as the Seat Mii. But this is the cheapest version. Take the three-door Citigo with a 60bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine and you’ll find a base price of just £662. Nissan’s budget sedan, although extra safety features are available on the base S model. It comes well-equipped for the class, with a full-size touchscreen 7.0″ keyless start and automatic emergency braking. The 60/40 split folding rear seat opens up more cargo space in the trunk.
