The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Soundtrack – With just a few days left until the release of Mockingjay – Part 1, we have the soundtrack. . . Ha, a playlist, anyway. Lorde was tapped to do Katniss’ anthem for the sequel, and “Yellow Flicker Beat” was released last month, but now we’re eagerly awaiting Kanye’s remix. CHVCHES, Grace Jones and The Chemical Brothers also feature on the 14-track soundtrack. There’s also a secret song we’re guessing Jennifer Lawrence will be singing in the film. Check out the list below, and if you like what you see, you can pre-order the soundtrack ahead of the November 17th release date.

We’re less than two months away from Mockingjay Part 2 and we’re pretty surprised there’s no news on the soundtrack yet. In previous years, we had a certificate of existence, and for now at least a credit track. So what does all this mean????

With each passing day without news, we begin to think this is the first option. Also, as QuarterQuell.org pointed out, the last poster doesn’t list a music supervisor (THG and CF had them, and those people were in charge of the original soundtrack albums, MJ1 didn’t do as much as Lorde “curated” the original soundtrack album) . .
We were the original soundtracks for The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, but we thought Mockingjay Part 1 missed the mark. The original Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack was much lower than the previous two. (Jennifer Lawrence
Was a huge hit and was originally packaged with theater music). Just because we weren’t fans of 3 in 1 doesn’t mean we won’t be open to the finale… if the music really captures the tone of the movie. We’re sure many fans think the same. Would Lionsgate just say “screw it” to the prospect of extra cash with this latest installment? It sounds weird to us, but maybe our buzz over the terrifying Hanging Tree remix made them not bother?
Of course, if it’s the former, the music (which we know is going to be solid) and a truly fitting exit song might be enough to really make you feel for this final film. We are all about QUALITY instead of QUANTITY. If there are no real songs, we’d rather they not release an “inspired” album. We respect that. But aren’t songs really?
