The Order Of Marvel Avengers Movies – Why so serious? Maybe the cast of Avengers: Endgame is starting to become known of the MCU
Marvel’s sequel Avengers: Endgame hits UK cinemas on April 25 and is the biggest release of 2019.
The Order Of Marvel Avengers Movies
The film will be the 22nd entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with 2008’s Iron Man.
How To Watch All The Marvel Movies In Order
If you want to watch Endgame but feel intimidated by the sheer size of the MCU, fear not!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU for short, is the common ground where all 22 movies featuring comic book characters are made.
Each tells its own distinct story, but also connects with other MCU films to tell a single story. It was also used by Marvel Comics pioneer Stan Lee in his comics.
The MCU is the most successful film franchise of all time, having grossed more than $18.2 billion (£13.7 billion) to date.
Marvel Movies In Order: How To Watch All Of Them
We recommend that you watch the movies in chronological order rather than the order in which the movies were released.
Handily, in the book Marvel Studios: The First 10 Years, Marvel released an official timeline of the MCU to help you do just that.
We’ve added movies released since this book came out, and here’s a handy guide to help you organize your Marvel viewing!
Just a geeky note on the chart. Technically, the first episodes of Ant-Man and the Wasp take place before Infinity War, but we recommend watching it afterwards to fully appreciate the post-credits scenes that take place later.

In 2007, Marvel was recovering from bankruptcy and had sold the film rights to some of the company’s most popular characters, such as the X-Men and Spider-Man.
Marvel also has superheroes that make up the core Avengers team – Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America – so they used the first MCU movies to introduce those characters.
Marvel then brought these characters together for the crossover film Avengers Assemble. You can see a list of the entire current cast of The Avengers here.
The first MCU movie released, Iron Man, included a post-credits scene in which Samuel L. Jackson’s super-spy Nick Fury mentions the Avengers for the first time.
New Mcu Variant Covers Celebrate The Epic Phase Three Films Of The Infinity Saga
Marvel’s plans for its films are structured in phases, each ending with an Avengers crossover film.
Avengers Assemble marked the end of the first phase, and Age of Ultron completed the second phase.
The finale is not only the end of Phase 3, but also ends the 22-film series that Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige is calling the Infinity Saga.
The new name for the first three phases of the MCU refers to the story of the collection of the Infinity Stones (six gems that give their owner great power) and the battle against the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin). You can read the full Infinity Stones guide here.

The finale will see the remaining Avengers try to save everyone after the villain Thanos (Josh Brolin) collects all the Infinity Stones and destroys half of all living things with a single finger in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War .
All bets are off on who will make it to the finish line in the Finals, as is also the case with the end of contracts for some of Marvel’s biggest stars.
Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) are widely reported to be out of touch.
There have also been speculations that their Marvel stars Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romonova / Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton / Hucky) and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner / Hulk) have also reached their powers in the studio.
Disney+ Reveals New Mcu Timeline Order With Moon Knight
While a solo Black Widow movie is reportedly in the works, it could be a prequel, so there is no guarantee Johansson’s character will survive.
However, one thing is certain – whatever happens, it will take time for the story of the Endgame to unfold.
It is the longest entry in the MCU to date, clocking in at three hours and two minutes. It has the same ending as the first part of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy, An Unexpected Journey (2012).
Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) may respond to rumors that one of the key members of the Avengers team may not make it to the Endgame.
What Order To Watch The Marvel Films
According to producer Amy Pascal, the film “will pick up moments after Avengers 4 ended as a story.”
Tom Holland’s Spidey was one of the many characters killed off in Thanos’ Infinity War, but given the role he played in the film, we can expect him to be alive and well before the credits roll for Endgame.

Marvel Movie Timeline
Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige has confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will return for a sequel “at some point in the future”.
We also know that a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie is confirmed after Disney rehired director James Gunn, but we do not know which Guardians will return for it. At the end of Infinity War, Bradley Cooper’s Rocket and Karen Gillan’s Nebula were the only survivors of the franchise.
Starring Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner, Dark Phoenix will be the last time the X-Men appear outside of the MCU.
You may be confused about why some Marvel characters appear in non-MCU movies.

Long before Marvel Studios existed, Marvel Entertainment had sold the rights to some of its characters to other filmmakers.
Spider-Man was sold to Sony. The studio created the Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire, and soon after rebooted the franchise with a less-than-successful reboot featuring Andrew Garfield as the web slinger.
However, Sony and Marvel have now agreed to a partnership that allows Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to appear in the MCU films, while Sony retains the rights to the character.
Sony also owns the rights to Ghost Rider, and made it into two films starring Nicolas Cage before the rights reverted to Marvel in 2013.

The Fantastic Four and X-Men series were sold to 20th Century Fox, although Marvel Studios is expected to regain the rights to both properties this year due to the Disney-Fox merger. The merger means that Marvel could introduce these characters into future MCU films.
It’s unclear what the future holds for this franchise, as the sleazy, pansexual superhero is definitely not the most family-friendly character.
However, the Deadpool movies were a commercial success, and star Ryan Reynolds has hinted on social media that he would like to see the Disney character in the future.

Fox also owned the rights to Daredevil, the 2003 film starring Ben Affleck, and the 2005 spin-off Elektra before the rights reverted to Marvel.
The Universal Hulk movies and New Line Cinema Blade movies are also the result of deals made before the rights to those characters returned to Marvel, and are not part of the MCU.
