The Walking Dead Season 11 – The Walking Dead has now aired its eleventh and final season in supersize on AMC and will debut on Netflix in the United States in January 2023 (other territories to vary).

Adapting the comics of the same name, the show has been a staple on both AMC and Netflix (depending on where you live) for years. Netflix US has carried the show since 2014, with new seasons every year since then (except season 10, which was delayed due to COVID-19).

It’s on Netflix. Other spin-off series have found their way to other rival streaming services around the world, be it Amazon Prime, Disney+, or elsewhere.

Season 11 has been released slowly over the course of a year, with the first batch of episodes airing back in August 2021 and the finale on November 20, 2022.

Traditionally, Netflix has had new seasons before the next season starts on AMC, but that won’t be the case here.

We originally expected season 11 to arrive between 113 days and 161 days after their end date, which would be between March and April 2023.

Although a Walking Dead midseason finale was hard to come by without a bang — literally, the new leader of the Reaper Leigh fired some explosive arrows at the old Alexandrians.

However, unlike the show’s zombies, host Angela Kang explained that these cool-looking missile arrows are an actual weapon, a product described in ancient history for a powerful weapon that can be produced by survivors of the apocalypse.

The Walking Dead Season 11 Review

“I believe the weapon is some kind of ancient medieval Korean weapon called a hwacha,” Kang told Entertainment Weekly. “But I had never heard of it. This room was the result of research: What are the old-fashioned weapons that can potentially be produced now because they were produced centuries ago, or are they effective and can cause massive damage?

“And so it was something that the chamber researched and came up with, and then they were coming, and I said, ‘What’s this gun? I can’t imagine’. And they’re like, ‘These rocket arrows are flying at you from this giant thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, that sounds great!’

However, fans were left with a double dose of cliffhangers as the fates of Carol (Melissa McBride), Connie (Lauren Ridloff), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Judith (Kelly Fleming) and Gracie (Annabelle Holloway) were also left unclear.

The characters have dispatched all manner of despicable villains in the series, but now they face their fiercest enemy – Mother Nature.

“It’s a raging storm,” Kang said of the situation Carol, Connie, and Aaron find themselves in, “It’s definitely going to have a lot to do with that situation…”

Luckily we now know when our favorite killers will be back, hopefully all alive and well – with sixteen(!) more episodes of the post-apocalyptic drama still to come.

The second half of the final season of The Walking Dead will begin with episode 9 on AMC in the US on February 20, 2022 and will launch the following day, February 21, 2022, on Star on Disney Plus in the UK.

The Walking Dead season 11 premiered in the US on August 22, 2021 on AMC, before arriving in the UK – again the following day exclusively via Star on Disney Plus.

New episodes will then arrive weekly on the streaming service until October 10 in place of FOX UK, where the show has historically aired.

Production began on a quick cut of season 11 episodes in February 2021, with producer Kevin Deibolt saying “we really hope it’s worth the wait.”

The season is set to be epic in length, with 24 episodes split into three separate sets bringing the story to a close.

Meanwhile, fans have enjoyed a few extra episodes of season 10, which aired in the UK from early March until Easter Monday.

The Walking Dead’ Season 11 Premiere Sneak Peek: Is Maggie’s New Plan A ‘suicide Mission’? (exclusive)

You can expect the entire main cast to return for episode nine and the rest of The Walking Dead’s final series, including: Norman Reedus as Daryl, Melissa McBride as Carol, Christian Serratos as Rosita, Josh McDermitt as Eugene, Seth Gilliam as the father. Gabriel, Ross Marquand as Aaron, Khari Payton as Ezekiel and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan.

It’s also possible that Lauren Cohan will continue to play a major role as Maggie Ree when she makes a dramatic return in the season 10 finale, two years after leaving the show.

So far in season eleven, two characters have kicked the bucket — Roy and Gage — so C. Thomas Howell or Jackson Pace are unlikely to return.

While there are some rumors that Andrew Lincoln may return as Rick Grimes in the final season, Reedus said he is trying to convince his former co-star to return for the final season.

The Walking Dead’ Renewed For Season 11

Fans have speculated that Lenny might even return as James Morgan – especially since the character had such a prominent role in the show’s first episode.

“There are some people that I would be very surprised if they didn’t show up in some way, shape or form,” James said. “But you know, at this point, it’s all up for grabs.”

Meanwhile, Michael James Shaw will continue to play Mercer, a character introduced at the end of the comic book series that nevertheless left a huge impression on fans.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s son appeared in the fifth episode of season 11 – as a zombie no less.

Morgan said: “My 11-year-old son, Gus Morgan, is going to be a special Walker in episode five. He’s getting his Covid test so he can be on set and everything. He’s so full of energy how funny.”

In April 2021, the actor shared an image of Gus looking pretty scary in Walker’s makeup, adding that he’s never been prouder of his son than watching him perform in the zombie drama.

Previously, another member of Morgan’s family – wife Hilary Burton – was played by Lucille, Negan’s beloved partner in season 10, named after her wild baseball bat.

Season 10 saw Terminator 2 star Robert Patrick brought in as disgraced survivor Mace, Cobra Kai’s Okaya Eme-Akwari as Maggie’s scythe-wielding right-hand man Elijah and Bosch’s Lynn Collins like the stranger Leigh.

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 16 Review: Act Of God

Yes, unfortunately, the main Walking Dead storyline will end with season 11 – but there’s still more to come from the franchise as a whole (see next section).

Scott Gimple, chief content officer for the Walking Dead franchise, said, “It’s been 10 years since ‘Bye Gone;’ What lies ahead is yet to come and stories and stories are yet to be told.

“What’s clear is that this show is about life, created by a passionate team of artists, writers/creators, producers and crew, bringing to life the vision that Robert Kirkman laid out in his brilliant comic — and supported by the best. fans in the world”.

“We have so many exciting stories to tell on TWD, and after that, this ending will be the beginning of more Walking Dead — brand new stories and characters, familiar faces and places, new voices and new mythology. It will be a grand finale that marks new premieres. It will lead the development
