What Is The Newest Chromebook Model – Acer is releasing half a dozen new Chromebook SKUs, announced today during the Next@Acer event. The company is updating its lineup with options for Intel’s latest 11th Gen “Tiger Lake” CPUs, and while the lineup includes good Chromebook options, Acer has also introduced some more expensive options which boast the first designs for performance.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 and Chromebook Spin Enterprise 514 are the most advanced options. They’re more expensive than the average Chromebook (Acer’s current Nexus is under $190), with a standard model priced at $700 when it comes out in January and a business-focused model priced at $900 for the release of December.

Two-in-ones (tablet computers) ditch the fans to reduce noise, and that can help keep them slim as well. Each device measures 0.68 inches (17.27 mm) and weighs 3.02 pounds (1.37 kilograms).
Acer Chromebook 511 (c736)
CPU options range from a dual-core Intel Core i3-1110G4 to a quad-core i7-1180G7. The machine is designed for 16GB of LPDDR4X memory and 512GB of NVMe PCIe 3.0 storage.
Acer’s Spin 514 has a 14-inch screen with thin bezels (84 percent screen-to-body ratio), a touch screen made of Corning Gorilla Glass, DTS Audio surround sound, and Wi-Fi 6. There are only two ports, however – both USB-C.
Acer’s line of Chromebooks is aimed at cloud-based companies and IT administrators who need to manage, manage and protect cloud workers.
The Upgrade / Cheaper Spin 314 Chromebook appears to have a colorful Chromebook logo, unlike the Spin 514.

A more budget-friendly alternative, the Acer Chromebook Spin 314, drops the CPU options to a dual-core, threaded Intel Celeron N4500 up to a quad-core Intel Pentium Silver N6000. four (no hyper-threading here). The Spin 314 will start at $500 when it comes out next month.
The Chromebook 515 and its business model, the Acer Chromebook Enterprise 515, are 15.6-inch clamshells with similar specifications. Both have CPUs ranging from the 11th-Gen Intel Pentium Gold 7505 to the quad-core Intel Core i7 1180G7 with integrated Iris Xe graphics. You can pack each with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and get some of the same features found in the two mentioned, such as Gorilla Glass touchpad and DTS Audio. There’s also a webcam cover on this 3.75-pound device. You still don’t get USB Type-A ports or a headphone jack, but the Chromebook 515 has two USB-C (3.2 Gen 2) ports, HDMI, and microSD.
The Acer Chromebook 514 is an affordable option; it starts at $400 and comes out in December. However, there are some problems. The Clamshell only has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage. It uses octa-core MediaTek Kompanio 828 CPU graphics and Arm Mali-G57 MCS.

This new lineup of Chromebooks for the education market includes the Acer Chromebook 512, 511, 314, and Spin 311. All four devices are designed to be affordable with durable designs, each it has a unique feel.
Acer also offers all of these models with eco-friendly materials, including an “OceanGlass” touchscreen made from plastics found in the ocean, and other components including recycled plastics.
The best example of the set is the Acer Chromebook 512, which brings a 3:2 display to the education market. This long screen is considered best for texting and reading, although it is slightly optimized for watching videos compared to traditional 16:9 or 16:10 displays. The Acer Chromebook 512 display is a 12-inch panel that can be equipped with a touch screen. Specifications include an Intel N-series chip, 12-hour battery life, an improved webcam, and standard port allocation.
The Acer Chromebook 512 (C852) retails for $350 and the Chromebook will be available this month from Acer.
Dell Chromebooks & Laptops For Enterprise And Education
Next is the Acer Chromebook 511 (C734 / T), which is built with “toy-safe” plastic, which makes the product suitable for “young students.” The specs are the same as the Chromebook 512, only with an 11.6-inch 16:9 display. It costs the same $350 and starts in February.
Acer Chromebook 314 (C934/T) is a 14-inch laptop designed for high school students and teachers as well. The $430 machine has thin bezels around the display and uses the same Intel N-Series processors with 10 hours of battery life, front-facing speakers, and more . This product launches in North America in the second quarter of this year.
Finally, there’s the Acer Chromebook Spin 311 (R722T), which will launch in March for $400 with a 2-in-1 design and a MediaTek MT8183 chip under the hood. The device has an 11.6-inch display which is also covered with Corning’s Antimicrobial Gorilla glass for better durability and cleanliness – the device also lasts for 15 hours of battery life.
