Apple’s latest iPad Air, the iPad Air (2022) or iPad Air 5, is now over a year old, so it’s no surprise that rumors about the iPad Air 6 are circulating.
When Is The Next Ipad Coming Out
The iPad Air 6 may not necessarily be the next new iPad to launch – successors to the iPad 10.9 (2022), iPad mini (2021), and iPad Pro 12.9 (2022) could all launch first –, but the Air range remains popular with those who want a powerful iPad in an ultraportable package.
Ipad Air Updated With M1 Processor & Similar Design For $599
Apple’s iPad Air tablets sit below the Pro line, offering slim designs but not quite top-notch displays and processing power. So they’re a good option for anyone looking for a premium tablet that doesn’t cost the big bucks (although as Apple products, iPad Airs aren’t exactly cheap either).
To give you an idea of what to expect from the iPad Air 6 – which we expect to launch in the next 12 months – we’ve put together this one-stop-shop guide to the latest news, rumors and predictions. which we will update throughout the year.
The latest rumors suggest that Apple will integrate its new M2 chip into the iPad Air 6, which should bring iPad Pro-like performance to the latest version of its cheaper tablet.
We haven’t heard many rumors about the expected arrival time of the next iPad Air or its price, but we can make educated guesses based on the release dates and prices of previous iterations.
Apple’s Most Popular Ipad Delivers Even More Performance And Advanced Features
The fourth and fifth generation iPad Air launched two years apart, so it stands to reason that the next two will be out after March 2022. That would put the iPad Air 6 release window in the first half of 2024.
As far as price goes, it’ll likely cost the same as the previous model, which started at $599 / £569 / AU$929, but the cost of more storage went up.
The main rumors we’ve heard about the iPad Air 6 so far are related to the processor, which we think will be Apple’s recently released M2 chip.
Tipsters like Revengus (below) have claimed that Apple’s next-gen iPad Air will swap its predecessor’s M1 chip for the M2 chip currently found in top-of-the-line MacBooks and the iPad Pro 12.9 (2022), meaning That being said, you can certainly expect significant performance improvements over the iPad Air 6.
New Apple Products Coming In January 2022
We’re not sure yet if Apple will ship the iPad Air 6 with an 8- or 10-core GPU (like the latest iPad Pro), but given that the iPad Air is positioned as Apple’s mid-range iPad option is, the choice of the former GPU size could keep costs down.
As far as the design and screen of the iPad Air 6 go, we don’t expect too much variation from the iPad Air 5. The addition of ProMotion panels with mini-LED technology on the iPad Air 6 would be a nice touch, but this pro-level Features would inevitably make the mid-range iPad’s price skyrocket.
For our money, the iPad Air 5 already has a decent enough design and display for its mid-range price.
The main problem with the 2022 iPad Air is that it’s just too close to the iPad Pro. Most buyers will have a hard time knowing which model to buy or what’s best for them – in fact, its lower price makes the Pro a bit dated.
New, Ground Breaking Apple Ipad Pro Coming, Reports Say
Apple needs to come up with a better way to make the next iPad Air unique so it doesn’t look too much like the Pro. Perhaps we can envision it getting a more mid-range spec sheet and a lower price point to make it more accessible.
Current iPad Airs start with 64GB of storage, which is just not enough for a tablet with a premium chipset.
That’s not enough storage space to download a lot of games or edit or edit a lot of files, so it’s not really clear why this version exists.
This also makes the price a little disingenuous – sure, the starting price of $599 / £569 / AU$929 seems low, but if you can get even a little bit of storage for that money, nobody’s going to buy an iPad Air for that price again .
Ipad Pro M2 (2022) Review: The Most Powerful Ipad Ever
One problem we ran into with the latest iPad Air – and frankly most other iPads – is that the battery life wasn’t great. It wasn’t
Whether you’re strolling through cafes to work or want to take your iPad to your studio as a second screen, you absolutely want a device that lasts. Current iPads don’t always do that.
We’d like to see the next-gen version of the iPad Air use a larger battery — perhaps along with some tweaks to make the most of that performance — to ensure it has a chance of making our list of the best iPads create. end up.

A next-gen iPad Pro might still be a year or more away, but the feature rumors based on alleged leaks are quite enticing.
In addition to stunning, larger OLED displays, the new iPad Pro is also said to run on an industry-first three-nanometer processor from TSMC.
Ipad Pro (2022) Release Date, Design & Feature News
According to a report by Nikkei Asia, Apple is testing processor designs using the Taiwanese chipmaker’s 3nm manufacturing process. It has also been claimed that TSMC will be able to ship the 3nm chip to Apple by the second half of 2022, meaning the processor would run the iPad release by October this year when it strictly adheres to its regular schedule.
According to Forbes, this advanced chip is likely to be seen in an iPad Pro or possibly an iPad Air.
TSMC has stated that the 3nm chip technology improves performance by 10 to 15 percent compared to the currently most advanced 5nm chip that will power the iPhone 13. In addition, power consumption would drop by 25 to 30 percent. This sharp drop in power consumption is certainly a plus for the processor.

Interestingly, the 3nm chip will not run on the 2022 iPhone release, believed to be the iPhone 14. Nikkei Asia’s report states that the 2022 iPhones will use chips made with 4nm technology, which is faster than this year’s iPhone 13 but not comparable to the planned iPad’s 3nm core processor.
Generation and the iPhone 12 used and released almost simultaneously. Furthermore, the iPhone would only carry this 3nm chip in the 2023 range if the report is correct.
Forbes suspects a production shortage in the delivery of 3 nm chips to supply the larger production volumes of the iPhone as the reason for this step.
Other rumors say that the iPad and iPad Pro lines will get OLED screens by 2022 or 2023. These rumors have been circulating for a few months now, including that of trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who claimed that a mid-range iPad Air will have an OLED display next year.
Should You Wait For The 2020 Ipad Pro, Or Is It Ok To Buy Now?
According to a report by The Elec, Apple will use different OLED textures for the 2022 models than for next year’s releases. iPad Air features a rigid OLED with thin-film encapsulation technology that stacks organic and inorganic elements in multiple layers to protect the panel. Meanwhile, new iPad Pro models are getting a flexible OLED that can accommodate curved screen components and a thinner screen bezel.
There are also rumors that the upcoming iPad models will come in larger sizes, larger than the current largest model, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in a report on GSM Arena, Apple engineers and designers are considering producing 14-inch and 16-inch iPads, but not in the near future. But it won’t be far-fetched to see them in the 2022 or 2023 iPad ranges. Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti 8GB vs AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT and RTX 3060 Ti: Which Should You Buy?
Apple is expected to release not one, but two new iPads this month. And when exactly they will hit the market has just been confirmed by a leading industry insider. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, the next Apple tablets are “coming very soon”.
